- Description
Description
A push to exit buttons can be necessary when magnetic locks and other electro mechanical locking devices are used to secure an exit or entry door, or pedestrian gate. This button is IP66 rated and engraved with ‘PUSH TO EXIT’ in green and instructions for use in an emergency in red.
The large tactile switch includes a push to make and push to break circuit. Both circuits are used together to offer a fail safe solution should the control equipment the switch is connected to fail or become compromised.
The stainless steel push-to-exit button can be either flush or surface mounted which can also be fitted internally or externally. A timed delay output option, which can be adjusted to suit individual applications, is also available.
The normally open circuit would be used to trigger control equipment for a timed exit from the building holding the doors open/unlocked for the time programmed on the control equipment. The normally closed circuit will control the power to the lock directly breaking power to the fail safe lock momentarily while the switch is pressed. This solution could be used in environments where a standard green break glass can’t be used due to constant misuse
